Dr. Kersi Chavda is a consulting Psychiatrist at the PD Hinduja National Hospital, Hinduja Healthcare, and the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. He is the chairperson of the task force of the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) dealing with school psychiatry and counselling and the Past President of the Bombay Psychiatry Society.
Dr Kersi Chavda was a panel Member of the IPS task force on ethical boundaries between clients and Doctors, which the Indian Medical Council is now taking up as a guideline across Indian Health Services.
Dr Kersi Chavda was the chairperson of the task force of the IPS dealing with the LGBTQ community, which managed to issue a position statement that was quoted in the landmark judgement by Two of the five learned judges when they repealed Section 377.
Dr. Chavda was a Panel member of the IPS task force that laid down clinical guidelines for treating Autism Spectrum Disorders and was the chairperson of the IPS Task Force dealing with College Psychiatry. Dr Chavda had been part of the first panel of the Maharashtra government that had laid down concessions for Learning Disabilities in Mumbai.
